momo (momose sunohara)![]() Age
25-27 Gender
Male Height/Weight
173cm (5'8"), 63kg (139lb) Build
Athletic, sturdy first impressions
Name: While I have Momo's full name on here for reference, he always goes by only his stage name - Momo, or Momo-chan if he's feeling cheeky. Not even his canonmates use his full name, and most of them don't even seem to know it since he doesn't generally share it. Momo is written as 百, which is the kanji for "hundred", but the word "momo" normally means peach, so be prepared for puns on both meanings.
Age/Canonpoint: Momo is 26 at the canonpoints I most commonly play from (post-Part 4 and post-Part 5) - the I7 timeline is a bit handwavy in that we have set milestones that show time passing in canon, but management is reluctant to actually update ages. By these milestones, Momo is 25 until sometime in Part 4, 26 between then and late Part 6, and 27 beyond the end of Part 6 or Beyond the Period, though this is a canonpoint I haven't worked with in RP yet. Visual: Momo is fairly average height (though a little bit on the short side for his industry), and while his build is slim and agile as is typical for his job, he has a good amount of muscle, shown best in art like this. He has lobe piercings plus multiple helix piercings in one ear, and while he has no visible scars, I generally assume he has one on the back of his left leg as he sustained a severe compound frature there in his teens. The tips of his hair are dyed silver-white to match his unit partner, his natural base hair colour is fully black (despite the anime occasionally tinting it blue), his eyes are hot pink. He always wears nailpolish (usually red), and always has a ring on his middle finger (shown here, it's black and designed to look like a musical repeat symbol). This ring matches one Yuki wears, both on their For information about his Corrupted/Shifted appearance at Karteria, see here. Fashion: The image to the left is Momo's casual outfit from one of the main story parts, and a good gauge of his general casual fashion sense. He tends to wear large jackets and hoodies a lot, or generally clothes he can move in fairly easily even when he has multiple layers on, and in later story parts tends to wear "chaotic" patterns (paint splatter in part 3, graffiti in part 4, etc.) in contrast to his more neat and orderly presentation in his part 2 outfits. Silhouette-wise, he frequently goes for loose-fitting top against tight-fitting pants, presumably to disguise his upper body strength/make himself look cute and unthreatening. In games, I am currently playing him at end of Part 5 and so defaulting to his Part 5 outfit (sprite, card art, full ref chibi). Other examples: Part 2, Twelve Fantasia, Part 3, Part 4, 4th Anni, 6th Anni, Anime Originals 1, 2, 3 and 4 Demeanour: Momo is cheerful and casual, typically maintaining an upbeat and friendly energy with a bit of mischief. He has a way of making people feel at ease because he naturally tends to pick up on how others are feeling and responds appropriately, bringing up the mood with his own. He tends to poke a bit of fun with and tease people he knows are receptive to it, but he'll pace himself to more serious people and generally ingratiate himself first before he starts reverting to his more typical energy. He's very much someone who wears different faces as suits the situation and will put whichever side of himself he feels suits the person he's meeting forward first, but whether he conceals his usual manner varies. Sound: Momo is voiced by Soichiro Hoshi and has a rather excitable, average to high pitch voice normally, but it tends to even out when he gets serious about something, especially since he often has quite exaggerated reactions even off-stage. He speaks casually enough that it's noteworthy to other characters when he slips into keigo (formal speech register). Probably the easiest accessible voice sample for him is his RabbiTube video, which mostly varies between more casual conversational tone and his very affected, dramatic stage face. For a better sample of him veering between cheerful, serious and brusque/crass, see 1:09-2:11 of this video. Singing voice examples: solo, duo but focused on him, and as Re:vale. info
Momo is essentially a walking deconstruction of the classic wish-fulfillment idea of "what if I got to join my favourite band". A national-level soccer player in high school, his spirit was crushed after a preemptively career-ending leg injury prior to the national championship caused his team to lose in his absence and put him in recovery for a year. An invitation by his concerned sister brought him in contact with the music of Re:vale, which became his new passion and helped lift him back up into his college years.
When one member of Re:vale received a severe injury in concert and disappeared, Momo made it his mission to support the remaining member, Yuki. After a month of begging and prostrating himself for Yuki to continue singing, Momo stepped into performance for the first time to become the new second member of Re:vale, and over the next five years, he and Yuki skyrocketed to the very top of the idol world and music industry. However, the way in which he had become part of Re:vale caused Momo to treat himself as a "fake" or replacement, filling him with self-doubt that still sticks with him in small ways even though he now knows that he has the blessing of both Yuki and the original second member of Re:vale. The often cutthroat nature of the entertainment industry also stripped him of his young adult naivete extremely quickly, leading him to embrace his more manipulative and intellectual abilities and transform himself into the industry's most skilful social engineer in order to make sure nothing could bring Yuki down before he reached success, among other "transformations" of his personality that Momo initially characterised as monstrous and selfish. Humble and down-to-earth despite his celebrity status, Momo is kind and caring, but puts others above himself despite being repeatedly called out on it by people close to him. His cheerful, peppy and disarming manner hides a great deal of worries that he only generally reveals under duress, frequently involving the fear that he'll harm, disappoint or otherwise inconvenience someone important to him. However, Momo is also incredibly cunning and calculating when needed, having a knack for reading and adapting to the situations and people around him, and has very little patience or restraint for people who harm his loved ones. In situations where people important to him are threatened, he's been described as underhanded and merciless, and in pursuit of protecting his loved ones, he frequently acts behind their backs, engaging in subtly controlling and manipulative behaviours to ideally ensure they never have to come into contact with danger. As he puts it, he doesn't care how much he's tainted, as long as his loved ones (primarily Yuki) stay untouched. abilities
Being from an idol canon, Momo is a normal human, so no supernatural powers here. However, despite the issues of public image, Momo is noted to be formidable in a fistfight (in his backstory he dived on stage to intervene in a brawl involving three other people and emerged unscathed but "bathed in blood", and he appears to have some level of formal self-defense training judging by his behaviour in fights) as well as very agile (one in-game event involves him crossing a whole long hall by swinging off the chandeliers). He also has quite high stamina (when participating in a shuttle run he completed 128 laps, equivalent to about 2.5 kilometers) which is at least in part courtesy of being an avid sportsperson, particularly in soccer. While he doesn't play competitively anymore, Momo previously reached a national level in soccer and maintains an "idol sports club" with several friends, so it's safe to say he's kept his skills in good condition. He's also noted to be skilled with surfing (and presumably swimming as a necessary backbone) and bouldering/rock climbing.
Unsurprisingly given his source canon, he's a professional-level singer and dancer, with his unit Re:vale having been considered the top of the idol industry for some years by his canonpoint. Characters strongly familiar with dancing may note that he doesn't dance like someone who did it from childhood, but compensates for it extremely well - when starting his career he did extensive research into how to adapt a body developed for athletics towards dance as best can be done when someone's fully grown. Slightly more surprisingly, Momo is an expert at analysing people and situations despite his excitable manner, naturally tuning his reactions to his surroundings, and rarely acts without thinking (unless someone important to him is in trouble, which is noted to basically give him tunnel vision). His natural ability to get on with people regardless of background is something he uses readily to create networks and support systems he can draw on when he needs to, and he tends to curry favour with people very easily. |
