hey, so i got some pricing info on places to stay. seems like even one of those ridiculous repurposed cars are about 2000N which would be paying to trade down so, no? ever. looks like a studio apartment can go for around ~12000N. i saw a few 2 bedrooms like that, which would be 6000N a month split 2 ways. they're still not that great, everything else is trending up from that.

i get the feeling that it might be a little hard to rent in the nicer areas, though. got some weird vibes talking to some of the landlords, and they were understandably hesitant about renting to people from other worlds entirely. i guess it's not the most stable situation if you think about it?

[Back home, a sight like this was hardly uncommon. Due to ES's structure, you could really go anywhere and run into someone practicing for something. This sight is much less common in this world, though, and while it doesn't surprise Niki that there might be other performers around, it's also hard to pretend he isn't at least a little curious! It's been a while since he met someone new who's involved in these things, too.

But Niki is polite, so he won't interrupt Momo while he practices. He'll just watch patiently! He wonders if this is someone who's been practicing for a long time...]

[Momo's been out of the city quite a bit recently, but coming back within the barrier, he always makes a bit of time to keep his skills sharp. He might not be going back into music without Yuki here - other routes in the entertainment industry will suit him fine - but that's no reason to let himself get rusty. So today he's tucked himself away in a particular part of Scintillant Park, not too out-of-the-way but enough that people who aren't interested can avoid him, and those who might be can follow the sound of singing. His backing track is basically inaudible, currently coming from a pair of modern-looking headphones looped around his neck, cable leading into one of his pockets. He's mostly just using it to keep time rather than out of necessity...and for the opportunity to listen back over the music he has from home.

He picks up the presence of someone else before seeing them (his antennae lie hidden beneath his hair, where he usually keeps them when he's out and about in the city, so the only visible sign of his corruption is that his red-painted nails are now red-painted claws), and doesn't let it interrupt, finishing out a song that speaks of living in the moment, sharing those experiences even when there's a struggle, alongside someone else. Even if he's on his own here, his and Yuki's music makes it difficult to mistake that there's a second person out there for this to be sung with. His dancing is energetic and polished to the point it wraps back around into looking completely free and natural, the honed movements of someone who's been a performer for some years now.

His last dance move just so happens to end with him facing Niki, and he offers an easy grin and a wink, along with the outstretched hand that almost feels like fanservice...though his left, that comes to frame his face, has a uniquely shaped black ring on the middle finger. Two lines, and two dots on the side nearer his fingertip, likely recognisable to someone who works in music as a repeat sign. Or half of one, lacking its paired match.]

Hi, hi! Professional interest, or did you just get curious? Or both? [He knows there's idols here he hasn't met - Rinne's mentioned a partner he hasn't run into yet, at the very least - so he has to ask.]

( by the end of the second week of august, a special delivery arrives at momo's door. a carefully put-together bouquet, composed of the brightest, summery dahlias that, as elysia had found, symbolize kindness, positivity and growth - the perfect gift for a friend she holds close to her heart. the true decor, however, comes in the form of a ruffled, teal-ish feather; perfumed, beautiful, so precious to the touch. one of the many that had appeared on elysia's body through her months in karteria, gifted for momo to remember her by.

[Momo keeps a hand on his own leash, because he knows Yuki is already exhausted and doesn't want to add to it by taking too much. But his tongue slips between parted lips all too easily now that he's been able to taste it before, knows it's allowed despite everything he'd once doubted about whether the nature of Yuki's love for him was quite the same as his towards Yuki. Despite the pause that had come of Yuki taking his lips, the way he presses into his mouth has the air of someone who's finally managed to take to heart that he belongs here - and he'll be damned if anyone else gets to taste this now that he has. If he lets anything or anyone take Yuki away from him again.

Even with the assertion that lies in every bit of his movement, it's slow and luxuriant, more to Yuki's usual pace than Momo's. He can write his confidence in being the person alongside Yuki, the person he's chosen despite the circumstances that initially brought them together, without having to rough him up.]

[Yuki feels something like security wash over him as Momo asserts himself, as Momo claims and Yuki allows it. He's tired and emotionally wrung-out, but Momo is his safe place, the one thing that will never willingly wrong him in any meaningful way. They can argue about why Yuki was gullible later, if need be. For now, Yuki's fingers find Momo's chest, intending to grasp at fabric but finding tatters instead. He pushes them aside and curves his hand along Momo's chest, not bracing, simply wanting the contact he needs to feel grounded.

The kiss is everything he didn't know he needed. He may have been buying time to think, but instead the slow, simmering sweetness makes him want to melt. Momo asserting himself isn't a bad thing, even if Yuki tends to think he's a little more dominant than Momo at first blush. This feels protective and guarding, and that's the place Yuki needs to hide in right now.

His tongue meets Momo's like this is second nature already, like he's always known this was how they were supposed to be, and he makes a soft sound into the kiss as he eases them both down so he's flat on the bed again.]
